We had such a great time at our centerpiece workshop last month at Boketto Wellness. First off, if you haven't been to Boketto yet, put it on your list. It is just one of those magical places. It's owner, Jelena is the sweetest, the goods at the shop are incredible, they offer body treatments like massage and acupuncture and if that is not enough they have the most adorable shop dog named Ollie. Every time I go in, I am struck by how great it smells (seriously!) and how welcomed I feel by Jelena and her team.
For this workshop, the summer season inspired us to go with a melon color palette of corals, salmon, peach, mauve and pinks with hints of soft blues and yellows. With the exception of the peony all of the blooms/greenery were foraged or grown locally. This would not have been possible even 2 years ago because there weren't enough local flower options. The Richmond area has had a surge of new flowers farms in the past few years which is just so great! A big thank you to Windhaven Farm, Gumball Herbals, Burst + Bloom and Prospect Hill Farm for growing such beauties.
We were lucky enough to have the incredibly talented Kim Stockwell join us to artfully photograph the day. Looking through all the gorgeous photos, I am struck by how amazing everyone's pieces are. There was some serious talent in that room! It is also apparent just how happy flowers make everyone which quite simply fuels my soul and reminds me feel how lucky I am to be able to be help share their beauty and guide people through the basics of floral design.
